MPI is Personalized Medicine

MPI's unique universal drug response predictor™ is being applied to existing chemotherapeutic drugs on the market to treat cancer. Based on a small tumor sample or blood sample, it predicts which drug the tumor is most sensitive to. For blood cancers, a blood sample can be used to determine chemosensitivity. The tumor sample is analyzed on a DNA microarray and the gene expression profile is processed by MPI's proprietary patent pending software. Figure 1 shows the output from the software for one particular patient sample.

The oncologists can use this information as a guide in selecting the most efficient chemotherapeutic drug or drug combination (Figure 2).

The technology has been proven in several retrospective validations on a large number of patients, diseases, drugs, and biologics.

Several prospective intervention trials are underway to confirm the clinical efficacy of MPI's drug response predictor™.

MPI's drug response predictor™ is commercially available for drug targeting already now and will be available for diagnostics following phase II/III clinical validation and FDA approval in 2011.
